Badass: Tales of Resilience, is a podcast that showcases authentic conversations about trauma and resilience. Marabai Rose explores the transformative nature of trauma with scholars, writers, and everyday people who have been in extraordinary situations. Marabai noticed how deeply moving it was to sit with survivors of trauma in her therapy practice, and be given the chance to witness how creative and strong people can be when they experience trauma.
Marabai wanted to share this experience with others, especially at a time when the entire world has been witnessing such death and destruction. In 2022 she created Badass as a way to do so. These stories largely affirm the positive side of human nature, our capacity to care for one another, and our capacity to heal. However, our show does not minimize the impact of trauma, or treat it as a gift. I hope our listeners can connect with these stories, and can be reassured that surviving, and even thriving, is possible.

What is fascinating about these stories are the many creative and wise ways that our guests coped, and also what they learned by facing such hardship. While we would never invite this type of situation into our lives, it is remarkable to discover just how resilient we really are.
